Introduction to Segment Categories

Segments give you the ability to identify and group visitors based on attributes you define as significant. Account identification within PathFactory is provided by 6sense. However, if you are a mutual customer of Demandbase and PathFactory, your account identification capabilities can be provided by Demandbase. Contact your Customer Success Manager if you’re interested in setting this up.

This article explains the available segment categories.

Segments

6sense Segment: available to PathFactory customers who are also a customer of 6sense. Bring your 6sense segment groups built within the 6sense platform into PathFactory and use them to segment and route your traffic to specific PathFactory experiences.

Annual Revenue: allows you to target companies with a particular annual revenue. You can specify any numeric value you wish, excluding commas; for example 1000000.

Buying Stage: available to PathFactory customers who are also a customer of 6sense. You can set the segment to match the buying stage you defined in 6sense.

City: allows you to target visitors who are in a certain city. Enter the city with proper capitalization and punctuation, for example Washington, D.C. or Rio de Janeiro.

Company Phone: allows you to target companies with a particular phone number. Enter only the digits of the phone number, excluding special characters such as hyphens and brackets, to ensure the best match.

Confidence: allows you to increase the accuracy of your segment by choosing a confidence level. You can choose a confidence level of low, medium, high, or very high.The confidence data is provided by 6sense.

Country: allows you to target visitors who are in a certain country.

Country ISO Code: allows you to use the International Standards Organization’s country codes to target visitors who are in a certain country. Enter the two-digit code, for example US.

Domain: allows you to target visitors from a certain email domain.

Employee Count: allows you to target companies with a particular number of employees. You can enter any numeric value, excluding commas; for example, 250.

Employee Range: allows you to target companies whose number of employees falls within a certain range. The following ranges are available to choose from:

  • 0 – 9
  • 10 – 19
  • 20 – 49
  • 50 – 99
  • 100 – 249
  • 250 – 499
  • 500 – 999
  • 1,000 – 4,999
  • 5,000 – 9,999
  • 10,000+

Industry: allows you to target companies that operate within a certain industry. The following industries are available to choose from:

  • Aerospace and Defense
  • Agriculture
  • Apparel
  • Associations
  • Automotive
  • Biotech
  • Business Services
  • Construction
  • Consumer Goods and Services
  • Education
  • Energy and Utilities
  • Financial Services
  • Food and Beverage
  • Furniture

NAICS Code: allows you to target companies within a certain sector according to the sector’s North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code.

NAICS Description: allows you to target companies within a certain sector according to the sector’s description as determined by the North American Industry Classification System.

Name: allows you to target visitors from certain named companies.

Region: allows you to target visitors from certain regions of the world. The following regions are available to choose from:

  • Australia and New Zealand
  • Caribbean
  • Central America
  • Central Asia
  • Eastern Africa
  • Eastern Asia
  • Eastern Europe
  • Melanesia
  • Micronesia
  • Middle Africa
  • Northern Africa
  • Northern America
  • Northern Europe
  • Polynesia
  • South America
  • South Eastern Asia
  • Southern Africa
  • Southern Asia
  • Southern Europe
  • Western Africa
  • Western Asia
  • Western Europe

Revenue Range: allows you to target companies whose revenue falls within a certain range. The available values to choose from include the following ranges:

  • $1 – $1M
  • $1M – $5M
  • $5M – $10M
  • $10M – $25M
  • $25M – $50M
  • $50M – $100M
  • $100M – $250M
  • $250M – $500M
  • $500M – $1B
  • $1B – $2B
  • $2.5B – $5B
  • $5B+

SIC Code: allows you to target companies within a certain sector according to the sector’s Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code.

SIC Description: allows you to target companies within a certain sector according to the sector’s description as determined by the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC).

State: allows you to target visitors who are in a certain state or province. The available values represent an extensive list of countries too numerous to list.

Street Address: allows you to target visitors with a certain street address, or elements of an address. Enter the address with proper capitalization and fully spelled out words, for example Street instead of St, to ensure the best match.

Zip Code/Postal Code: allows you to target visitors who are in a certain zip or postal code. Enter postal codes with proper capitalization.

New Search Filters for Segments

PathFactory’s Personalization feature allows you to build various visitor segments to support your ABM efforts.  With rule options based on query string parameters and visitor IP data, you can guide each of your visitors  to the correct  experience (tracks/microsites/explore pages) all from one link. 

Segments previously had ‘equals’ and ‘does not equal’ as operators to select from when building your rules. We have added two new operator values (listed below) that expand the rule building functionality and thereby adding further flexibility.
